“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it” ~ Robert Swan OBE.

Gary and RobConor Fogerty (Yacht Captain) and Laura Beyers (Yacht Manager & Logistics Coordinator).

A great day on board 2041 on a windy day in Cardiff Bay. The Voyage for Cleaner Energy is a 5 year worldwide lecture series and sailing expedition by Robert Swan OBE and his team at 2041. The purpose of the voyage is to increase awareness about environmental issues related to climate change and inspire young people to lead the way in implementing practical, viable solutions.

Robert has earned his place in history alongside the great explorers and adventurers who have tested their physical and mental strength to the limit in the planet's most hostile environments. In 1989 Robert became the first person in history to reach both the South and North Pole on foot. In the video below, Rob - a good friend, ally and Lengthen Your Stride Patron - shares his thoughts on sustainability, climate change, maintaining inspiration, life skills and the value of leadership training and team building in wilderness areas.

Business as usual is over. We are in the midst of a Responsibility Revolution. Daily, we are subjected to story after story of duplicity, broken promises and breached contracts. The resultant lack of trust and confidence between people, organisations and leadership is demanding unprecedented change in management and leadership.

It is time to lengthen our stride and walk our talk on people, planet and prosperity. We urgently need, to: Get REAL Responsible and Environmentally Aware Leadership ©.  When it comes to engaging employees in responsible development and sustainability, inspiring and embedding Responsible and Environmentally Aware Leadership in individuals, companies and communities - our programmes, conducted in wilderness areas are beyond compare.

Rob meets the Green Sheikh, supports The Prince’s Rainforest Trust and joins Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Robin Williams, William and Harry and even Kermit appearing with the frog to support The Prince of Wales in his call to halt tropical deforestation and receives an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Durham University. Read and see more.

7. Photographer Michel Denis-Huot, captured these amazing pictures on safari in Kenya's Masai Mara. He was astounded by what he saw: "These three brothers have been living together since they left their mother at about 18 months old,' he said. 'On the morning we saw them, they seemed not to be hungry, walking quickly but stopping sometimes to play together. 'At one point, they met a group of impala who ran away. But one youngster was not quick enough and the brothers caught it easily'". These extraordinary scenes followed. The impala escaped unharmed.

Just as extraordinary is the video below, but the pictures above show that maybe man does not have to run this fast ;-)
