Origins of Indigenous Collective:
Indigenous Collective was formed in 2010 to provide a dynamic, collaborative & ethical platform for the sustained cultural, environmental & socio-economic interests of indigenous communities worldwide.
Certain global-consumers only recently realised the impact their consumption has on remote indigenous communities, half-way around the world.
More than just following a trend of 'sustainable-consumerism' we now see a Conscious Consumer engaging, campaigning & networking towards & in pursuit of global solutions in sustainability.
It's our understanding that traditional, indigenous communities hold the very key to sustainability through an ancient relationship with their natural environments. Much of the 'advance' of industrialisation & 'modernisation' has disrupted this delicate balance.
There are rare examples of indigenous communities that wish to participate in the global market place, but remain too isolated, without the know-how or resources to engage the world.
The Indigenous Collective is a UK based response to this crucial need, where we connect these Indigenous Communities with Conscious Consumers in the UK & around the globe.
